SaTURFday at Churchill and Hollywood

Nearing the Thanksgiving season, we are grateful for marvelous Turf races.  Today we look at a grade three at Churchill Downs and a grade one at Hollywood Park.

Churchill Downs Race 9 {Commonwealth Turf~G3~1 1/16 mile~Turf~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A large field of thirteen appears well prepped for this competitive race.  Beaux Choix (Leparoux / Tagg) appears to have a slight edge with the fourth highest last out speed number off a slightly longer route, a three race progression, and three fantastic, peaking workouts.  Mystic (Desormeaux / Mott) looks ready to score with the second highest (tie) last out speed number, a four race progression, and three robust, peaking workouts.  Turallure (Albarado / Lopresti) is ready to surprise with the third highest speed number at the distance on top of a perfect record at the distance, and three athletic, peaking workouts.  Dark Cove (Theriot / McPeek) looks ready to run a big race with the highest speed number at the distance as well as a perfect record at the distance, he is coming off a longer route, and has put in two solid workouts.  Yankee Fortune (Santiago / McLaughlin) will be in the hunt for victory with the highest last out speed number at a longer route and two stout workouts.  Let's play georgeous Churchill Downs.

Hollywood Park Race 8 {Hollywood Turf Cup~G1~1 1/2 mile~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A very nice, extremely competitive race will unfold with a field of eight going to the gate.  Marlang (Rosario / Drysdale) will be the speed on the front end hoping to hold for the win.  He has the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four fierce workouts.  Treat Gently (Valenzuela / Mott) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number and one speedy workout.  Buenos Dias (Blanc / McAnally) will surprise with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, and five fantastic, peaking workouts.  Temple City (Talamo / Gaines) will be forwardly placed looking for a piece of this purse having gone this distance over the synthetic with a decent speed number and has put in four ferocious, peaking workouts.  Let's play Hollywood Park.

Friday's Results
Aqueduct R8.  Our first pick, Denomination, finished 4th.  Our second pick, Exclusive Scheme, finished 2nd for show money of $3.80.  Superfecta went 8-7-9-4.
Bankroll dips to $19.30.
