Sunday Sprint at Churchill Downs

On this fine Sunday we will look at a sprint race at Churchill Downs.

Churchill Downs Race 9 {6 1/2 furlongs~3 year old Up~Optional Claiming}
A high quality crew of eight jogs to the gate for this optional claiming sprint.  This will be a great wagering race as there is no one horse with a distinct advantage in here.  Guam Typhoon (Leparoux / Wilkes) will be coming off an extended layoff.  He has one two races off the layoff in the past.  Despite the layoff, he holds the highest last out speed number, a three race progression prior to the layoff, and four smashing workouts.  Kensei (Albarado / Asmussen) is another with proven ability off the layoff and will challenge.  He holds the highest overall speed number and has put in an outstanding five peaking workout tab in preparation for this race.  Success Success (Borel / McGee) is another with some success off the layoff.  He holds the highest speed number at the distance and has put in four well-built, peaking workouts in advance of this race.  Tend (Ouzts / Woodward) will be in the hunt for a piece of this purse as he has run well over the dirt, but is much more of a threat on synthetic.  Tend has the third highest last out speed number and the third highest speed number at the distance.  Let's play a sprint at wonderful Churchill Downs.
