Downhill Turf Thursday

With the Breeders Cup approximately a week away, it is important to get a little exercise at wonderful Santa Anita Park, the host track for this years Breeders Cup races.  Thus we start our horse racing weekend.

Santa Anita Race 7 {6 1/2 furlongs~downhill TURF~3 year old Up~Optional Claiming}
A modest field of eight will go to the gate for this downhill Turf sprint.  There is enough speed in here to keep the pace rolling.  The field can be expected to be tightly grouped based on the running styles of all involved.  This should be a nice handicapping practice in anticipation of the upcoming Breeders Cup races.

#5 Smokey Lonesome (Talamo / Ellis) is the deserved favorite with the second highest last out speed number and two solid workouts.  He should be able to track the field on to victory.
$2 SHOW.

#6 Sweet Swap (M. Garcia / Sadler) will challenge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two superb workouts.  He has a win on the downhill course in one start over the course.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#3 Clubhouse Ride (Gryder / Lewis) should be in the mix with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and one furious workout.  He holds the highest speed number, among these runners, over the downhill course.  He is another that could use his tracker/closer running style to great advantage.

#1 Streamside (Valenzuela / Ledezma) could surprise sharing the fourth highest last out speed number, holding a two race progression, and putting in three strong, peaking workouts.  He could speed his way to the winners circle.

10 CENT Superfecta

#5 Smokey Lonesome / #6 Sweet Swap / #3 Clubhouse Ride / #1 Streamside.

Last Superfecta Sunday (10/21) Results
Belmont Park R9.  Allowance.  We failed in our 10 CENT Superfecta effort, securing only one wagering interest on our tiicket.  Superfecta went 10-3-5-8.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, American Buffalo, finished a very disappointing 9th.
Bankroll gets wiped out falling to a only $0.21 (twenty-one cents).  We will supplement with $10.00 for our horse racing weekend.
