Superfecta Sunday in Oklahoma

We celebrate this Superfecta Sunday by taking a gander at the best little race from the great state of Oklahoma, The Oklahoma Derby.

Remmington Park Race 9 {Oklahoma Derby~G3~1 1/8 mile~3 year old~Stakes}
An excellent cast of eight will go to the gate in this premiere race.  There is sufficient speed to keep the pace rolling.  The field consists of a group that are working hard to make their mark as they move into more challenging stakes races.  We will need to put together a posse of four to complete a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.  It should be a good race.

#7 Departing (Albarado / Stall) should be the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two stout workouts.  He will need a strong pace set-up in order to compliment his tracking/closing running style.  This impressive lad is 100% in the money at this distance in four races.  Clearly the one to beat.

#4 Broadway Empire (Walcott / Diodoro) will challenge while being forwardly placed.  He holds the third highest last out speed number off a longer route and has put in two strenuous, peaking workouts.  This guy enjoys the surface and could be well positioned to say good-bye in the stretch.  He is our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
$5 SHOW.

#2 Carve (Santana / Asmussen) is coming off a brief freshening with four superb, peaking workouts.  His last out speed numbers are decent, but he does have the third highest speed number at the distance.  Should a favorable pace develop, he will be closing hard.

#6 Cameo Appearance (L. Quinonez / Catalano) could wire this field with a comfortable pace on the front end.  He holds the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one swift workout.  This guy also holds the second highest speed number at the distance.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#7 Departing  +  #4 Broadway Empire  +  #2 Carve  +  #6 Cameo Appearance.
