December Horse Racing Weekend begins at Fair Grounds

On this Thursday, we take a peek at fine little route in New Orleans.

Fair Grounds Race 7 {1 mile 70 yards~3 year old Up~Allowance}
A small, but mighty field of six will go to the gate in this allowance feature.  There is enough speed in this one to keep the pace honest.  The vast majority have either had a short freshening or layoff prior to this race.  It should be a good one.

#3 Tater Downs (Napravnik / Maker) has an edge with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two dutiful workouts.  This lad also shares the highest speed number at the distance.  Expect him to track the pace very closely and then take off in the stretch.
$1 WIN / $1 SHOW.

#6 Scout Leader (Bridgmohan / Howard) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route, a three race progression, and four terrific workouts.  he should be able to track and close well.
$1 SHOW.

#5 Hawaakom (Graham / Pietz) could surprise with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and three robust workouts.  He too will be tracking and closing into a contested pace.
$1 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interests

#2 Beauty's Pioneer (Guidry / Ingram) could contend with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one peaking workout.  This guy also shares the highest speed number at the distance.  He could be in amongst the trackers seeking to strike.
