A Race One Horse Racing Weekend Start

We open our Horse Racing weekend with the first race at Big Sandy.

Belmont Park Race 1 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~NY~Maiden Claiming}

A short field of six will make the start in the first one on the card. There is one speedster and three firsters that could insure an honest pace. Half the field has speed figures that closely resemble one another. The balance of the field is making their first start. It should be a good race to launch the Belmont card.

#4 Jai Alai (J. Ortiz / Hushion) will be making his second start after scoring the second highest last out speed number of the group. In that race he tracked the pace and settled for fourth. He will be coming down in distance from a loner sprint and has put in three robust workouts.
$1 WIN  /  $2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#5 El Genio (Alvarado / Iselin) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two peaking bullet workouts. He should be the speed of the group and could wire this field.

#6 Bustin Buttons (Maragh / Terraccino) is a first time starter with strong connections. He is a three year-old gelded son of Bustin Stones. He has put in three tenacious workouts in preparation for his first start.

#1 Got Winged (Lezcano / Dini) should contend with the highest last out speed number and a three race progression.  He holds the highest speed number over the Belmont track. This lad should track the pace ready to strike going into the stretch.
