A Twilight Stakes Saturday

On this Stakes Saturday, we take in a superb graded stakes race down in Louisville, Kentucky.

Churchill Downs Race 8 {Stephen Foster~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A modest field of seven will go to the gate in this annual affair. There is bountiful speed to insure a serious pace. Speed figs are all very close making for a highly competitive race. Three millionaires make their appearance to class up this talented field. It should be one of the most exciting races of the day.

#7 Eagle (B. Hernandez / Howard) could have the edge with a fine closing effort. He holds a couple of good last out speed numbers, the highest speed number at the distance, and four tremendous peaking workouts. This son of Candy Ride [ARG], has an impressive in the money record of 85% from fourteen starts.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

#3 Effinex (Stevens / Jerkens) should pose a mighty challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four powerful peaking workouts. This multi-millionaire son of Mineshaft, holds the second highest speed number at the distance. He should be pressing the pace.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests
