Furlong Friday along the Jersey Shore

A beautiful Furlong Friday as we head into the Independence Day Weekend. Today we take in a low level claimer along that magnificent track along the Jersey shore.

Monmouth Park Race1 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~Beaten Claiming}

A solid group of seven will go to the gate in this first race on the card. There is a sufficient amount of forwardly placed types to maintain a decent pace. Speed numbers for most in this field are fairly close. It should be a fine race to kick off the long holiday weekend.

#5 Conquest Outlaw (Keiser / Pimental) might have the edge with the highest (tie) last out speed number and a two race progression. He appears to be in good form and should be advantageously forwardly placed. This lad loves the Monmouth track and holds an overall 50% in the money record from twenty-two career starts.
$1 WIN  /  $2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Global Glow (Rivera / Socca) should challenge with a modest last out speed number, but a great effort two starts back. He comes into this off a layoff after racing on the dirt at Tampa Bay Downs. This guy has put in one solid workout readying himself to fire fresh. With a decent pace he should close well.

#2 Goodnewswithatwist (P. Lopez / Bishop) will contend sharing the highest last out speed number and a two race progression. This guy enjoys the Monmouth dirt and should take up a nice tracking position. He holds the highest speed number at the distance.

#1 Saturday's For Fun (Cotto / McCooey) should be in the mix with the fourth highest last out speed number and a two race progression. He should be forwardly placed ready to whirl into the stretch. This guy is 50% in the money at this distance from two tries.
