Stakes Saturday at Belmont Park

Off we go to witness what should be the first race of the Turf Triple Crown at beautiful Belmont Park.

Belmont Park Race 8 {Belmont Derby Invitational~G1~1 1/4 mile~inner TURF~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A stellar group of thirteen will make their way onto to the Belmont green. There is enough speed to keep an honest pace at this classic distance. Speed numbers are super close making for an extremely competitive event. Three are shipping in from across the pond and could sweep the top three positions. The three Euro-shippers are the only ones that have grabbed this distance. It should be one of the most exciting races on this Stakes Saturday.

#13 Deauville [IRE] (Spencer / O'Brien) should have the edge coming out of a Group one over in Great Britain. He has already has hit the board in his only start at this distance. He is coming out of a longer route where he threw in a clunker. A brief thirty day freshening should make him ready. A son of Galileo [IRE],this lad should be fairly close to the pace seeking to pounce.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#10 Humphrey Bogart [IRE] should challenge coming out a longer route in his last race over in England. This lad is another that has hit the board at this distance. This guy ranks third among this group in average earnings per race run. A son of Tagula [IRE], watch him charge hard going into the stretch.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#7 Long Island Sound  (O'Donoghue / O'Brien) will contend with a couple of form-full last out races in Britain and Ireland. Still another that has hit the board at this distance. This lad is 100% in the money from four career starts. A son of War Front, he has the tactical speed to take proper measure of the pace and be in it in the end.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Camelot Kitten (I Ortiz / C. Brown) should be in the hunt with the second highest (five-way tie) last out speed number and three sound workouts. He will be stretching out for this distance and as a son of Kitten's Joy he should have not problem hitting hit. Coming off three wins in a row he should close gallantly.

#4 Highland Sky (L. Saez / Tagg) will be in the mix going for home sharing that second highest last out speed number. This guy has put in three favorable workouts in preparation. He is working a six race progression. A son of Sky Mesa, he loves the turf and the Belmont course.

#3 Applicator (Reyes / Yanakov) could surprise with the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four sensational peaking workouts. This lad is also coming out of a longer route. A son of Henry the Navigator, he could show some speed or be close to the pace.
