First Horse Racing Weekend of 2017

We begin our first Horse Racing weekend of the New Year with a nice synthetic sprint down in ol' Kentucky.

Turfway Park Race 6 {6 Furlongs~4 year-old Up~Claiming}

An interesting group of nine will be making their first start of the year in this claiming race.
There is sufficient speed to keep the pace honest. Speed numbers are fairly close. A couple in here will be trying the synth for the first time. It should be a decent race in the cold evening.

#8 He's a Dandy Candy (O. Mojica / Godsey) looks to be in good form with the highest (tie) last out speed number a shorter sprint and a four race progression. He should be trailing the pace close to the leaders. This guy is 100% in the money over the surface from two efforts.
He is our Dividend play.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#3 Forest Mist (Jimenez / Hubley) is coming our of a more competitive race and fits here well. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number and one strong workout. This lad enjoys the distance and holds the best overall in the money performance at 60% from ten career starts.

#2 Latin Wild Cat (McKee / Eubanks) could surprise exiting a route of ground in his last race. He has a couple of o.k. last out speed figs and has put in a peaking workout. No stranger to Turfway, he should compete nobly with his tactical speed.

#5 Captain Cook (Pusac / Rodriguez) should be in the mix as he comes out of route race back to his most favorable distance holding a 72% in the money record at it. He has put in decent workout while kicking back with a short layoff. This guy should fire fresh as the potential leader.
