Stakes Saturday at the "Great Race Place"

We take in some seriously good stakes action in Southern California.

Santa Anita Race 9 {San Gabriel~G2~1 1/8 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A excellent group of eight will hit the Turf in this annual contest. It comes up short on speed which may default to the horse in post position one. Speed numbers are so very close that it could turn out to be any one of these equines race. The race has been moved off the turf making it ever more challenging. It should be a very exciting race.

#11 Ring Weekend (Van Dyke / Motion) should carry favoritism with the highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and three superb peaking workouts. He is the sole millionaire in the race. A son of Tapit, he should track the pace and shoot through into the stretch.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

#9 Twentytwenty Vision (Smith / Mandella) should challenge with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and four strong peaking workouts. This lad has never been out of the money in his fourteen career starts. A son of Pollard's Vision he should be able to track and close sharply.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Isinthepost [FR] (T. Baze / Mullins) should contend holding the third highest (tie) last out speed number and three significant workouts. He holds the highest speed number at the distance. A son of American Post [GB], he should perform a pure tracking move connecting to the stretch in speedy fashion.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#2 Point Piper (Gutierrez / Hollendorfer) will be in the mix sharing the third highest last out speed number, working a four race progression, and putting in three solid workouts. He will be stretching out to this distance which should suit him comfortably. A son of Giants Causeway, he is another that should track the pace.
