Stakes Saturday in the Sunshine State

We take in some exciting graded stakes action in sunny Florida.  Let's Play Two!!

Gulfstream Park Race10 {Ft. Lauderdale~G2~1 1/16 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A full group of twelve will travel over the grass in this annual event. There is enough speed to keep an honest pace. Speed numbers are fairly close giving it a competitive feel. All in here have gone comfortable over this distance with in the money performances. It should be one of the best races of the day.

#7 Divisidero (Prado / Bradley) should fire fresh off an extended layoff. Prior to the layoff he fired off two exceptional speed numbers and has put in the best workout tab with four tremendous peaking works. This son of Kitten's Joy should be tracking and closing smoothly in the stretch.

#10 Jay Gatsby (L. Saez / Jerkens) will challenge with a couple of great last out speed numbers and three superb peaking workouts. He should take up a tracking position ready to spring into the stretch. A son of Giant's Causeway, he one of a number in here that is 100% in the money at this distance.

#2 Midnight Prowler (Castellano / C. Brown) should contend with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a four race progression, and four stout workouts. This guy should take up a close tracking position under one of the best jockey's in the country, Castellano. Another son of Giant's Causeway, he holds one of the top in the money records of this group coming in at 72% over eleven career starts.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Lukes Alley (P. Lopez / J. Carroll) should be in the hunt with a couple of very good last out speed numbers and four strong peaking workouts. When he is not racing over the Woodbine Synthetic he loves the Gulfstream course with a 100% in the money record. A son of Flower Alley he is another tracker in the mix.

#1 Heart to Heart (Leparoux / Lynch) could go off as the favorite with a perfect record at the distance and over the track from three starts at same. He holds two incredible last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two hearty workouts. A son of English Channel, he is the speed of the race, but may flanked by other speeds making for a steamy pace.

Gulfstream Park Race 11 {Hals Hope~G3~1 mile~4 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A sound group of nine will hit the dirt in this annual affair. There is plenty of speed and forwardly placed types to insure a swift speed. Speed numbers are real close making it any of these horses' race. It should be a terrific race to wager and watch.

#4 Realm (P. Lopez / Tagg) might have the edge with the third highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three significant peaking workouts. With a lot of forwardly placed types he benefit with his tracking capability. A son of a Haynesfield, he is 100% in the money at the mile distance.

#7 Team Colors (Lezcano  / Jerkens) is coming off a lengthy layoff, but appears to be ready take on these fellas. Prior to the layoff he has a last out speed number that rates fourth among this group. He will be taking on the mile after going longer and has put in three exceptional peaking workouts. A son of Street Cry [IRE], he should love tracking and closing in on this crew.

#2 Tommy Macho (L Saez / Pletcher) has strong connections and comes into this one with the highest speed number at the mile. He holds a couple of decent last out speed figs, a two race progression, and three sound workouts. A son of Macho Uno, he will be in the battle close to the pace.

#6 Hy Riverside (Castellano / Sano) should be in the thick of it with a couple of good last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two robust workouts. He has notched a win at this distance in his only try and is the most experienced over the Gulfstream track. Another son of Macho Uno, he should be another that takes up a tracking position.

#8 Mr. Jordan (Bravo / Plesa) might go off as the favorite as he is being selected by a number of the best handicappers. He holds the highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and four quality workouts. A son of Kantheros, he will be seeking his third win in a row as part of the front end speed.

Last Stakes Saturday (1/7) Results
Santa Anita R9.  San Gabriel--G2. (Race was moved off the Turf).  Our first pick, Ring Weekend, finished 5th.  Our second pick, Twentytwenty Vision, finished 3rd for show money of $3.20.  Our third pick, Isinthpost [FR], finished 2nd for show money of $5.40.
Superfecta went 1-5-9-2.
Bankroll sheds a few dimes to settle at $132.37.
