Horse Racing Weekend Begins in Florida

Best of luck to all the horseplayers battling in the Horse Players World Series at The Orleans in Las Vegas, Nevada this horse racing weekend. Boyd Gaming always puts on great horse racing tournaments year after year.

On this Thursday we take a look at a fine maiden event down in South Florida.

Gulfstream Park Race 8 {1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Maiden Claiming}

A good group of twelve will enter the gate in this maiden claiming feature. There is a little bit of speed to keep the pace rolling. Many in here are seeking their first win and most have had trouble hitting the board. Speed numbers are all over the map making this race a difficult, but potentially profitable handicapping endeavor.

#9 Songeur (L. Saez / Pletcher) will be making his third career start with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three hearty workouts. This colt will be dropping in class and stretching out in distance to enhance his chances. He could be rolling late seeking the win.
$1 WIN  /  $2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#12 Milo Diamond (Castellano / Campitelli) should challenge with a couple of good last out speed numbers and a two race progression. He has hit the board in one of his two starts at this distance. Dropping in class he should track the pace comfortably.

#1 Taken to Church (J. Ortiz / Guilot) should contend with a nice ground saving trip along the rail. He shows a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and one sound workout. This guy should be forwardly placed fending off challengers.

#7 Mason's Song (Gaffalione / Dwoskin) is coming off an extended layoff with a couple of decent performances in his two career starts. He has worked efficiently towards his comeback to the track by putting in four serious workouts in the last thirty days. This lad should track the pace closely upon his return to the Turf.
