Seeking the Fountain of Youth

Stakes Saturday brings us more Derby prep races. Today we look in on a fantastic one in the Sunshine State.

Gulfstream Park Race 13 {Fountain of Youth~G2~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

An extremely capable field of ten will go to the gate in this annual Kentucky Derby prep race. There is enough speed in here to carry this crew through fast fractions. Speed numbers are fairly close making this a competitive event. All entrants are Triple Crown Nominees. It could be the best race of the day.

#6 Practical Joke (J. Ortiz / C. Brown) is coming in from a modest freshening. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four significant works. This lad should track the speedsters swooping in at the stretch run. A son of Into Mischief, he is 100% in the money for his four career starts.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#8 Irish War Cry (Rosario / Motion) should go off as the favorite with the highest speed number at the distance secured in his last race. He holds a three race progression and one stout workout. A son of Curlin, he should be forwardly placed attempting to gain his fourth career victory from four starts.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#7 Three Rules (L. Saez  / Pinchin) has the tactical speed to be in the hunt from the start. He holds the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two superb workouts. A son of Gone Astray, he loves the Gulfstream Park track showing a 100% in the money record from six starts over it.
$1 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#2 Gunnevera (Castellano / Sano) should contend with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one solid workout. He should benefit from a swift pace utilizing his tracking/closing style. This son of Dialed In is the most experienced at this distance hitting the board twice in three starts.
