A Little Downhill Furlong Friday

Thank goodness it's Furlong Friday. Today we look in on a swell downhill Turf race.

Santa Anita Park Race 7 {6 1/2 Furlongs~Downhill TURF~4 year-old Up~Optional Claiming}

A reduced field of eight will strut up the hill for this Turf race. There is plentiful speed. Speed numbers are fairly close giving the race a competitive feel to it. It should be a very fast race with each of these guys battling in the stretch.

#8 Incensed (Prat / Miller) looks like he might have the edge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two sturdy workouts. He has the tactical speed to outlast any speed fight on the front end. This guy enjoys the highest speed number of the group over the Turf, at the distance, and over the Santa Anita course.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

#6 What'sontheagenda (Periera / O'Neill) will challenge coming off an extended layoff with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, working a three race progression, and putting in three high quality peaking workouts. This lad is 100% in the money at the distance and in his career five starts. Should be on the front end with staying power.

#9 Mesut (Roman / Gaines) just cleared his maiden hurdle in his third start securing the third highest last out speed number. He has improved in every start and has put in two dynamic workouts. With a sure fire speed battle, he will be closing earnestly.

#1 El Tovar (Bejarano / Baltas) should contend with the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two efficient workouts. This guy has the most experience on the unique downhill course posting the second highest speed number. He should be another that benefits from a speedy race.
