Superfecta Sunday at Ol' Del Mar

We look in on a nice Turf mile on this Superfecta Sunday.

Del Mar Race 8 {1 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Claiming}

A couple of scratches have reduced the field to seven in this claiming event on the grass. There is enough speed to keep a solid pace. Speed numbers are super close. It should be quite the competitive event. Our task is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#3 Flip The Coin Jan (Gutierrez / O'Neill) might have the edge with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression and two dynamite workouts. This guy should be forwardly placed seeking to strike going into the stretch. A son of Trappe Shot, he will be cutting back to this distance in his third start of the form cycle.

#9 Upo (Van Dyke / Miller) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression and two hearty workouts. This lad will be tracking the pace looking for an opening in the stretch. A son of Archarcharch, he relishes the distance and the Del Mar course. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$3 SHOW.

#5 East Rand (Quinonez / Mullins) could go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number coming out of a Stakes race. He is working a five race progression and has put in two solid workouts. A son of Denman [AUS], he should be closing swiftly in the stretch.

#2 Shadow Sphinx (Prat / Baltas) should contend with a solid speed fig two starts ago and four supreme workouts. This lad should be forwardly placed in good position. A son of Pioneer of the Nile, he has hit the board at this distance and is 66% in the money over Turf.
