Holiday Monday Racing

Today marks the unofficial end of Summer. With Del Mar and Saratoga closing out their summer season's, we look forward to some exceptional Fall racing. On this Holiday Monday we explore a fantastic race in gorgeous upstate New York.

Saratoga Race 10 {The Hopeful~G1~7 Furlongs~2 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A wonderful group of eight youngsters will go to the gate in this annual Saratoga sendoff.
There is enough speed to establish a swift pace. Speed numbers are all over the matrix, but these young colts can improve greatly in any race. It should be a great race as a fitting end of the terrific Stakes Races held at Saratoga this summer.

#1 Somebeyay (Castellano / Pletcher) might have the edge with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number as a win over the Saratoga track and four strong workouts. This lad has hit the board in all three of his career starts. A son of Into Mischief, he should track the pace and strike in the stretch.
$1 WIN  /  $2 SHOW.

#3 Nitrous (Santana / Asmussen) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number and four hearty peaking workouts. Another who had hit the board in both of his career starts. A son of Tapit, he has also notched a win over the Saratoga track. Expect him to be close to the pace.

#7 Mucho (J. Ortiz / Mott) contend with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two solid workouts. Yet another that has won over the Saratoga track, he will be tracking the pace ready to score. A son of Blame, he stretches out a furlong for this race.

#5 Dream Maker (Leparoux / Casse) is another son of Tapit. He holds a decent last out speed number while breaking his maiden at a shorter sprint. This colt has put three powerful, peaking workouts in preparation. He comes into the race off a brief freshening, definitely ready to fire.
