Superfecta Sunday Long on the Turf

We take in a race where the Turf meets the surf as we go long on this Superfecta Sunday.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Race 7 {1 3/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Optional Claiming}

A good group of nine will hit the green in this featured event for regally bred stayers. No speedsters in this one, but a few that like to be forwardly placed may make for a steady pace. Speed numbers are very close making it any horses race. The large majority of these will be stretching out to this "marathon" distance for the first time. Our task is cobble together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#1 Red King (Pereira / D'Amato) should go off as the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number at the same distance and three endurance building workouts. This lad is 60% in the money at the distance from five starts. Truly, he is the one to beat. A son of English Channel, he should be tracking and closing gallantly.

#7 North County Guy (Gutierrez / Baltas) will be stretching out to this distance with three very good last out speed numbers and four high powered workouts that include three bullets. He enjoys the surface and loves the Del Mar course. A son of The Pamplemousse, he is 65% in the money from twenty career starts. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$3 SHOW.

#5 Buckstopper Kit (Cedillo / D'Amato) is another that will be stretching out with the second highest last out speed number and three hearty workouts. This guy is another that should be part of the forwardly placed pack. A son of Kitten's Joy, he is 50% in the money over the Del Mar course from six starts.

#8 Unapologetic (Talamo / P. Miller) should challenge mightily with the fourth highest last out speed number and two strong peaking workouts. This closer favors the distance, surface, and Del Mar course. A son of Temple City, he holds the highest speed number at the distance.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#1 Red King  +  #7 North County Guy  +  #5 Buckstopper Kit  +  #8 Unapologetic.
