Stakes Saturday in Cool Florida

 We look to South Florida for a challenging graded Turf stakes on this last Stakes Saturday of the year.

Gulfstream Park Race 11 {Fort Lauderdale~G2~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A very nice field of nine will hit the grass in this annual event.

There are some speedy types in here that could make an honest pace. All top-flight trainers have horses entered. Some of the best jockeys are in town for the Championship meet. This should be an excellent race. Speed numbers are very close. One millionaire is in the field. All have been well prepped for the race. Only four have raced over the Gulfstream course. Expect a banger of a race.

#7 Stone Age [IRE] (J. Velazquez / C. Brown) looks to strike in his third North American start. This raced against tougher and drops in distance from his last. He has put in three superb workouts in preparation. Look for him to track the pace closely. This millionaire son of Galileo [IRE], he is 47% in the money from seventeen starts.

#8 Red Run (Zayas / Maker) will pose a mighty challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and four powerful peaking workouts. He should take up a nice tracking position. This will be his first start over the Gulfstream course. A son of Gun Runner, he is 47% in the money from twenty-one starts.

#9 Running Bee (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) is the deserved morning line favorite with the third highest (tie) last out speed number and four strong workouts. He should be part of the speed team on the front-end. This colt loves the surface and distance. It will be his first run over the Gulfstream course. A son of the great English Channel, he is 83% in the money from six starts.

$2 SHOW.

#3 Jerry the Nipper (J. Ortiz / Pletcher) has shown terrific meddle over the surface and at the distance. He should track the pace closely and strike in the stretch. This gelding comes in with the fourth highest last out speed number and four hearty workouts. A son of Liam's Map, he is 84% in the money from nineteen starts.

#1 Marwad [GB] (O. Murphy / Moubarak) should contend with the shared highest last out speed number and two sound peaking workouts. This guy loves the Gulfstream course. He will be part of the tracker pack fighting for position. A son of Intello [GB], he is 55% in the money from nine starts.

#6 Fort Washington (L. Saez / Mcgaughey) has improve his speed numbers over the last three notching the second highest last out speed number of this group. He has put in four good workouts. Look for him to track and close gallantly. A son of War Front, he is 73% in the money from fifteen career starts.
