A Grade One at Belmont Park

Saturday, Stakes Day.  Today we look at the Garden City Stakes at Belmont Park.  We are closing in on the Breeder's Cup at Churchill Downs the first weekend in November.

Belmont Park Race 9 {Garden City~G1~1 1/8 mile~inner Turf~3 year old~fillies~Stakes}
A gorgeous group of eight fillies will enter the gate for this annual stakes race.  The edge is given to Negligee (Maragh / Terranova) coming off an approximate 90 day layoff with a couple of decent last out performances and the most superior workout tab of the group.  She has put in four sparkling workouts prepping for this race.  She should be there closing well at the end.  Check the Label (Dominguez / Motion) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number and three powerful workouts.  Queen of the Creek (Leparoux / Proctor) will be the speed of the race and should hold on for a piece.  She shows the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one solid workout.  No Explaining [IRE] will surprise with the fourth highest last out speed number, a victory at the distance, and two hearty workouts.  Let's play beautiful Belmont Park.
