Challenging Tampa Bay Downs

As we enter into the Holiday season, we will start a shortened horse racing weekend today, Thursday, with a most challenging maiden race at Tampa Bay Downs.

No races will be handicapped on Friday or Saturday in the spirit of the Christmas season.  We will cap the weekend off, weather permitting, with a race from Santa Anita's new dirt track on Sunday.

Wishing you all a joyous Christmas / Holiday weekend.

Tampa Bay Downs Race 8 {1 mile~Turf~3 year olds Up~Maiden Special Weight}
These can be the most difficult races to handicap as they are always quite undpredictable.  A field of ten will assemble for this race.  In addition, there are three on the also eligible list waiting for entry to the gate should there be any scratches.  Cinnamon Beach (Parker / Everett) may be the big surprise in this one looking to break his maiden in his eigth start with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two sprinty, peaking workouts.  Trackman (Homeister / Dodgen) looks well prepped with the second highest (tie) last out speed number over a longer route, a two race progression, and two strong workouts.  Mr. Ryder (Allen / Clement) will have a major role in this race also with the second highest last out speed number in his only career race and three athletic, peaking workouts.  Wonder Beyond (L. Garcia / Toner) is certain to be in the mix with the third highest last out speed number and three superb workouts.  Colonialism (Goncalves / Mott) will also join the battle for victory with the second highest speed number on the turf surface and three solid workouts.  Let's play a challenging maiden Turf race at Tampa Bay Downs.
