Million Day 2012 at Arlington Park

It's a beautiful Stakes Saturday with competitive stakes races all over America, but none better than the Arlington Million at splendiferous Arlington Park.  The stakes undercard will be thrilling as well.  Today we will look at the Secretariat and the Arlington Million.  There are two factors to hone in for the Arlington Park race card today.  First, the Euros should be dominate in any of the races they appear in. Second, keep an eye on the outstanding Arlington Park jockey James Graham and the horses he will be riding.  James always seems to be at peak performance on big race days.

Arlington Park Race 8 {Secretariat~G1~1 1/4 mile~TURF~3 year old~Stakes}
A super field of eight will stride out to the gate.  Half the field has speed and the other half will be coming from off the pace.  It should be a very exciting race.

#7 Bayrir [FR] (Lemaire / De Royer-Dupre) is looking for a dominating performance with enough pace in the race to kick it in.  He has run two fabulous last out races overseas, is working a three race progression and has a 75% win rate in four career races.
$2 WIN / $3 SHOW.

#8 Silver Max (Albarado / Romans) will challenge with solid speed having won six in a row.  He holds the third highest last out speed number, an incredible 93% in the money record in thirteen career starts, and has put in two stout workouts.  This speedster will attempt to wire the field.
$2 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#6 Daddy Long Legs (O'Donoghue / O'Brien) has traveled and raced the world including a disappointing finish in this years Kentucky Derby.  He has performed two decent last out races overseas and holds the highest racing post rating.  This Kentucky bred Euro-star could stay close to the pace and strike in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#4 Finnegan's Wake (Lezcano / Romans) should be in the hunt with the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two athletic workouts.  He should have a nice closing run.

Arlington Park Race 11 {Arlington Million~G1~1 1/4 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A classy field of eleven will venture onto the grass for Arlington Park's premiere Turf event.  The race comes up light on speed with a couple of pressers added to the front end.  The balance of this terrific field will be tracking and closing.  Expect the Euro invaders to dominate the race.  As always, this race will be the most exhilerating race of Stakes Saturday.

#9 Crackerjack King [IRE] (O'Donoghue / Botti) has a slight edge with a couple of excellent last out races in Britain and Italy.  He holds the highest Racing Post rating at the distance and has an enviable 78% win record in nine career starts.  Watch him track and close.
$2 WIN / $3 SHOW.

#3 Afsare [GB] (Fallon / Cumani) will challenge with two strong last out efforts in Great Britain, a four race progression, and one strong workout over the Arlington Park track.  He is another that will track the pace and launch a solid run in the stretch.
$2 WIN / $2 SHOW.

#6 Treasure Beach [GB] (Spencer / O'Brien) is last years winner of the Secretariat and will also pose a mighty challenge.  He is well traveled and posted a triple digit speed number on the Arlington Park Turf in that race last year.  This guy posted a decent last out Racing Post number at a longer route.  Expect him to track the pace with the rest of the Euro group.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 Boisterous (Lezcano / McGaughey) will probably be the only American racer that will be in the mix with the second highest (3-way tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and three robust peaking workouts.  He is another that should track the pace ready to explode coming into the turn.

#8 Wigmore Hall [IRE] (Turner / Bell) will be in the hunt coming off a decent performance in a longer route race in Great Britain.  He is working a two race progression and holds the fourth highest (tie) speed number at AP among this group.  He should loom prominently while pressing the pace.
