Horse Racing Weekend begins with Downhill Turf

Our horse racing weekend begins with a very competitive downhill Turf romp.

Santa Anita Park Race 5 {6 1/2 furlongs~downhill TURF~4 year old Up~fillies/mares~Claiming}
A field of ten closely matched gals will make the downhill start.  There is plenty of speed in this one which should make for a very swift pace.  The speed numbers come up roughly comparable which will make it a good handicapping challenge.

#6 Creditcardroulette (Talamo / Proctor) should get a sound pace to run into.  She holds the second highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and two robust workouts.  This gal has one win from four starts on the hill.
$2 SHOW.

#1 Awe' Some Kitten (Maldonado / Bacorn) could be forwardly placed ready to strike with the highest (tie) last out speed number at a route, a four race progression, and two superb peaking workouts.  This will be her first attempt on the downhill Turf course.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#8 Anita Marie (Bejarano / Knapp) should contend as she stretches out at a longer sprint down the hill.  She shares the highest last out speed number, holds a four race progression, and has put in one stout workout.  She has a versatile running style to keep her close to the front.

#7 Midnight Lady (Espinoza / Sadler) should also step out gamely in her first downhill effort with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and four excellent peaking workouts.  She should be able to track the pace at great benefit.

#4 Promiscoussuances (M. Garcia / Miller) should be in the mix as the speedster that could lead the charge down the hill.  She shares the fourth highest last out speed number and has cobbled together a two race progression.  This gal holds a 75% in the money record on the downhill course from eight starts.
