Furlong Friday in the Prairie

Thank goodness it is Friday.  After a long week of work, we can kick back and enjoy some high octane horse racing.  Today we look in on a fast furlong tussle in the prairie.

Prairie Meadows Race 9 {Iowa Srint Handicap~6 furlongs~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A fast and furious bunch of six will jostle for the win in this annual stakes race.  There is a bevy of speed in this one and if the accelerator is pressed hard it could benefit those that like to come off the pace.  Either way, this will be over in a flash.

#2 Alsvid (Tohill / Hartman) might have a slight edge with a furious pace.  He holds the third highest last out speed number and has put in two quality workouts.  This lad last scored a victory here and loves the track.  Expect him to be close to the pace ready to strike.
$2 SHOW.

#3 Work All Week (Emigh / Bruggemann) should challenge with the highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and four sizzling workouts that include three bullets.  This guy will be making his first appearance at Prairie Meadows and should lead them through swift fractions.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Mico Margarita (Santana / Asmussen) is the only colt among these gelded speedsters.  He should contend with a tactical speed attack.  This colt holds the third highest speed number at the distance and has put in three superb peaking workouts.

#5 Delaunay (Albarado / Amoss) should also challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one stout workout.  He also holds the second highest speed number over this track.  Expect him to be very close to the pace.
