Stakes Saturday at the " Big A"

On this Stakes Saturday we look at a classic Turf contest at awesome Aqueduct.

Aqueduct Race 7 {Long Island Handicap~G3~1 1/2 furlongs~TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Graded Stakes}
A great group of twelve ladies will hit the grass in grand fashion. There is enough speed in this contest to develop a quick pace. A couple of Euro invaders join the fray to make a highly competitive race out of it. A number in here have not yet gone this distance.  The speed figs over the Turf are relatively comparable. It should be a fantastic race.

#5 Danza Cavallo [FR] (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) has the edge with a 100% in the money record from four starts on French Turf. She is coming into this fresh off a short layoff after racing brilliantly across the pond in France. For this race she has put in four very good workouts and should be forwardly placed. This daughter of Sunday Break [JPN] will be making her first North American start.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#6 Hellenistic (Alvarado / Weld) also joins in from across the pond. She has been racing well in Ireland.  She is another that comes into this after a brief layoff, so will fire fresh. This daughter of English Channel is coming in off back to back wins on the Turf. She should be tracking and closing diligently.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#2 Viva Rafaela [BRZ] (Bravo / Pletcher) will challenge with the highest last out speed number among the American based contingent, a four race progression, and three mighty workouts. This daughter of Know Heights [IRE] should be part of the forwardly placed crew battling for position.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#1 Aigue Marine [GB] (J. Velazquez / Clement) should contend with the second highest last out speed number and four superb workouts. She shows the highest speed number at the distance and holds a solid record at same. This daughter of Galileo [IRE] will be closing fast into a strong pace.

#7 Giant Shadow (Vaz / Graham) could be the big surprise with a couple of good last out speed numbers that earned her victories in both races. She holds a two race progression and has put in one fundamental workout.  This daughter of Giant's Causeway should not have any trouble with the distance.
