Sunny Del Mar Friday

On this Friday, let's take in a nice Turf contest in sunny southern California.

Del Mar Race 8 {Kathryn Crosby Stakes~1 mile~TURF~3 year old~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}
A good field of twelve will take to the grass in this annual affair.  It comes a little light on speed, but there is a sufficient enough amount to keep the pace rolling. The speed numbers are all relatively close. This could be a surprising, yet exciting race.

#2 Queen of the Sand [IRE] (Smith / Gallagher) should be one of the beneficiaries of a solid pace with third highest last out speed number at a longer route and three hearty workouts. She already has a win over the Del Mar course and will be closing quickly.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Wishing Gate (Van Dyke / Proctor) should challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and five resounding, peaking workouts. She has a good record over the Del Mar Turf hitting the board 66% of the time from six starts. This gal should be tracking and closing well.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#5 Kathleen Rose (Bejarano / Machowsky) should contend with a couple of solid form last out speed numbers and three superb peaking workouts. She has a tremendous 100% in the money record at the distance from eight starts. This gal is likely to lead the pack through solid fractions.

#4 Burning Arch (Trujillo / Hollendorfer) could be on the cusp of a break-out run. She holds a couple of fine last out speed numbers turning in winning performances in each. This gal also shows five excellent workouts during a brief layoff. She is another that will be tracking and closing into a good pace.
