End of the Year, Start of Our Horse Racing Weekend

We end the year 2015 and start our Horse Racing weekend going into the New Year.
Today we take in a nice race down in New Orleans which, regrettably, is of the Turf.

Fair Grounds Race 4 {1 1/16 mile~3 year-old Up~Starter Optional Claiming}

A good group of nine will go the gate in this off the Turf affair. It comes up very light on speed with virtually all of the field displaying solid tracking capability. Speed numbers are fairly close giving a competitive feel to the event. It should be a fine race to cap off the year.

#10 Pagets (Geroux / Asmussen) is coming off an extended layoff and should fire fresh. He is lightly raced holding the third highest (tie) speed number at the distance while achieving a 50% in the money record. He has put in a sound workout prepping for his return to the track. One of a number of tracker-closers in this one, he should be able to kick it home.
$1 WIN  /  $2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#11 Broken Key (D. Velazquez / G. Scherer) should go off as the favorite with the second highest last out speed number and a two race progression. This guy holds a 100% in the money record at this distance from five starts. He loves the Fair Grounds track and should track the pace closely.

#4 General Election (Murrill / Stidham) should challenge with the highest last out speed number and two robust workouts. He holds the highest speed number at this distance. This guy is dropping in from a tougher claiming event and is another that will be tracking the pace.

#12 B'wannagoldmine (Torres / Pish) should contend with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two stout workouts. He shares the third highest speed number at the distance. This guy is yet another that will be tracking the pace after a brief freshening.

10 CENT Superfecta

#10 Pagets  /  #11 Broken Key  /  #4 General Election  /  #12 B'wannagoldmine.
