Furlong Friday in MD

We found a nice Turf sprint in Maryland for our Furlong Friday.

Laurel Park Race 9 {5 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Allowance}

A modest field of eight will hit the Maryland grass in this Turf sprint. There is plenty of speedy gals in this one. Speed figs are fairly close. Consequently, it should be a nice battle. Interestingly only two Kentucky breds make an appearance. The balance were bred in PA (2), MD, LA, WV, and FL. What a great breeding showcase that creates. It should be a grand Turf sprint.

#5 My Sister Caro (Cintron / C. Martin) looks to be the one to beat with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one solid work. She should be forwardly placed close to the pace and swoop into the stretch. This West Virginia bred loves the distance and the course.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 Dare to Be (S. Hamilton / Jenkins) should challenge coming out of a stakes race at a slightly longer distance. She holds the highest speed number at this distance and has put in two dynamite workouts. One of the Kentucky breds that should hit the board closing swiftly.

#4 Play Unified (F. Lynch / Weaver) looks to be in great form and should be in the hunt. She holds a couple of very good last out speed numbers and has put in two hearty workouts. Coming down from Saratoga, this will be her first try over the Laurel Turf course. A Louisiana bred with tactical speed.

#3 Daylight Ahead (K Davis / McMahon) should contend with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one peaking workout. She should be battling on the lead ready for another strong performance. A Maryland bred with all the signs of home course advantage.
