Preakness 144

We celebrate the Preakness Stakes on this Stakes Saturday.

Pimlico Race 13 {PREAKNESS~G1~1 3/16 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A great full field of thirteen will go to the gate in the 144th running of the Preakness. There is sufficient speed to ignite a fast pace. Speed figs are surprisingly close which merits a sensationally competitive event. Only four in this field exit the Kentucky Derby. It should be a fantastic running of the second leg of the Triple Crown.

#4 Improbable (Smith / Baffert) is the most consistent in the group holding the third highest last out speed fig and putting in three superb peaking workouts. This guy appears ready to roll and should track the pace closely striking in the stretch. A son of City Zip, he has scored three wins and is 83% in the money from six career starts.
$2 WIN.

#3 Warriors Charge (Castellano / B. Cox) could be the big surprise as he continues to improve coming off two wins in a row. He holds the second highest last out speed number and has put in three super tough workouts. This son of Munnings is 100% in the money from five career starts. Look for him to show his tactical speed.
$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#1 War of Will (Gafalione / M. Casse) encountered trouble in KD 145 and should be able to scoot from the gate in good order here at Pimlico. This colt holds the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and has fastened together two bullet workouts. A son of War Front he has secured three victories and is 55% in the money from nine starts.
$2 SHOW.

#11 Laughing Fox (Santana / Asmussen) should be in the mix as he continues to improve with each start. With a strong pace, this lad should be closing fluidly in the stretch. He has cobbled together three superior workouts in preparation. A son of Union Rags, he has grabbed three wins from seven starts.
