Stakes Saturday in the Big Apple

Off we go to that great race track in New York to look in on a magnificent turf race.

Belmont Park Race 10 {Man o' War~G1~1 3/8 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great field of nine will hit the New York Turf in this annual graded stakes contest. There is sufficient speed to render a fast pace. Speed numbers are comparatively close giving anyone of these horses a chance to hit the wire first. The field consists of three millionaires; #4 Arklow, #5 Magic Wand [IRE], and #8 Channel Maker. It should be a fantastic race.

#6 Focus Group (I. Ortiz / C. Brown) should get the pace he needs to run into. This lad holds the third highest last out speed number and four robust workouts. He is undefeated at this distance from two starts. A son of Kitten's Joy, he should gallop home in great form.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#5 Magic Wand [IRE] (Lordan / A. O'Brien) is the only filly in the field, but should give these lads a run for the money. She holds the third highest speed number at the distance. Coming in from Dubai, UAE, she should have adequate freshness to compete here. A daughter of the great Turf sire, Galileo [IRE], she should be forwardly placed ready to strike.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#7 Epical (T. Baze / Cassidy) comes in from California where the Turf battles have been legendary of late. He holds the second highest last out speed number and three terrific peaking workouts. He holds the second highest speed number at the distance. A son of Uncle Mo, he has the tactical speed to patiently make his move as the pace develops.
