Stakes Saturday in Jersey

Off we go to preview an exciting stakes race along the Jersey shore. Summer Turf season unofficially begins this Memorial Day weekend.

Monmouth Park Race 11 {Monmouth Stakes~G3~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great group of eight Turfers will step on to the Haskell Turf course. There is sufficient speed to maintain a solid pace. Speed numbers for these fellas are very close. We can expect a tremendously competitive event.

#7 Synchrony (McCarthy / Stidham) seems to have a slight edge with the third highest (tie) last out speed number and one strong workout. This guy loves the distance as well as the Monmouth Turf course. A son of Tapit, he should track and close ferociously.
$1 WIN  /  $2 SHOW.

#4 Up the Ante (Raj. Maragh / Clement) should step up to meet these lads as he holds the highest last out speed number and two hearty workouts. He has already hit the board in his only attempt at this distance. A son of Smart Strike, he is versatile in that he could show speed or see how the pace develops.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#8 Projected [GB] (Gallardo / C. Brown) should contend as he heads into his third start in the form cycle. He holds a couple of decent last out speed numbers and two robust workouts. This guy is another that enjoys the Monmouth Turf. A son of Showcasing [GB], he will be tracking the pace ready to strike.
$1 SHOW.

#3 Markitoff (Gutierrez / Maker) appears ready to move forward with the second highest last out speed number in a grade one event at Churchill Downs. He does hold the third highest speed number at the distance. A son of Giant's Causeway, he has the tactical speed to move into the pace smoothly.

$1 Saturday Exacta Wheel ($3.00)

#7 Synchrony  /  #4 Up the Ante, #8 Projected [GB], #3 Markitoff.

10 CENT Superfecta ($0.50)

#7 Synchrony  /  #4 Up the Ante  /  #8 Projected [GB]  /  ALL.
