Long on the Turf for Stakes Saturday

On this Stake Saturday we go long on the Turf for the opening weekend of the Fall Championship season at Belmont.

Belmont Park Race 10 {Jockey Club Derby Invitational~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Stakes}

A very good field of nine will take to the Turf in this million dollar stakes race. It does come up a little light on speed, but a few in here are capable of tracking the pace closely. Three Euros come in from across the pond to challenge the North American based turfers. Speed numbers are fairly close. It could be any one of these lads race.

#9 Spanish Mission (Spencer / Simcock) should do well against this field coming out of a Group three in Great Britain. He loves the surface and the distance. This lad is 83% in the money from six career starts. A son of Noble Mission [GB], he should track and close gallantly.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#8 Digital Age [IRE] (Castellano / C. Brown) should go off as the favorite with the second highest last out speed number and three robust workouts. He is another that loves the surface and will be stretching out to this distance. This guy is 80% in the money from five starts. A son of Invincible Spirit [IRE], he too will be tracking and closing well.

#5 San Huberto [IRE] (Prat / Chappet) is one of the Euros trying North American turf for the first time. He has secured an in the money record of 80% from five starts racing in France. This guy is coming down in distance from his last and has recorded a good workout here. A son of Speightstown, he should be forwardly placed seeking to get first jump on the leader.
