A Kentucky Superfecta Sunday

On the cusp of the first day of Fall, we take a look at a smashing Maiden Claiming sprint down in Kentucky.

Churchill Downs Race 5 {6 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~Maiden Claiming}

A good group of ten maidens will launch from the gate seeking their first win. Three first time starters make their appearance here which will make the race much more intriguing from a handicapping perspective. Of those who have run, the speed numbers are fairly close. There is sufficient speed to keep this race on high cruise. Our task is to net a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#10 Greenspan (Gaffalione / Fawkes) might have a tiny edge with the third highest speed number at the distance and four tidy workouts. He comes in from Indiana Grand for his third career start. A son of Fed Biz, he should show speed from the opening of the gate.

#2 Superado (Leparoux / Wilkes) is a first time starter well prepped with four robust workouts. He was a 170k yearling purchase at Keeneland. A son of Kentucky Derby winner, Supersaver with top notch connections. This lad is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Yabba Dabba Dude (Graham / C. Silva) will be making his twelve start all the while making a slight drop in both class and distance. It could be a needed wake up for the lad. He does hold the fourth highest speed number at the distance and has put in one strong workout. A son of Awesome Again, he should be motoring on or near the front end.

#9 Super Terrific (Lanerie / McGee) could go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number and two stout workouts. He is 100% in the money over the Churchill track from three starts. Another son of Super Saver, he will need some pace to be able to close them all down.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#10 Greenspan  +  #2 Superado  +  #8 Yabba Dabba Dude  +  #9 Super Terrific.
