Superfecta Sunday Turf on Dueling Grounds

Nothing better than a little Kentucky Turf on a Superfecta Sunday.

Kentucky Downs Race 9 {Dueling Grounds Derby~1 5/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Stakes}

An excellent field of ten will run on the adulating course in this annual event. The race comes up deficient on speed. However, there are a number in here that like to track the pace closely. It looks like it will be run like a Euro race with a significant quickening entering into the stretch. Speed numbers are very close which could make it any one of these lads race to win. Our task is to thread together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket. It should be a spectacularly exciting race.

#6 Channel Island (Gaffalione / Maker) might have the edge having run a slightly longer race in his last and earning the second highest last out speed number. He added to that effort three superb peaking workouts. This guy is 60% in the money from five career starts. A son of English Channel, he should be tracking and strike in the stretch.

#9 Journeyman (Graham / Harty) is coming down from Canada where he had a hard beat (DQ'd) in the Canadian Derby. This guy holds the fourth highest last out speed number and two robust workouts. He has improved in each of his last three races. A 100% in the money record from seven career starts adds to his luster. A son of Animal Kingdom, he should be part of the pack of runners close to the pace. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Limonite (Leparoux / Asmussen) looks ready to take another step forward with the third highest last out speed number and four supreme peaking workouts. This guy is 55% in the money from nine career starts. A closer, he will need some pace to run at. This son of Lemon Drop Kid is one of a handful in here that have earned multiple wins.

#1 Social Paranoia (J. Ortiz / Pletcher) should go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number and two solid workouts. This lad will be stepping up in distance. He holds a superior 90% in the money record from ten career starts. A son of Street Boss, expect him to be tracking ready to strike.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#6 Channel Island  +  #9 Journeyman  +  #5 Limonite  +  #1 Social Paranoia.
