Stakes Saturday Turf along the Jersey Shore

A nice Fall day for some Turf action along the Jersey Shore.

Monmouth Park Race 9 {Violet Stakes~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}

A reduced field of nine will hit the grass in this splendid stakes race. There is enough speed to maintain a quick pace. Speed numbers are very close making it a competitive event. All have experience at this distance and three are looking forward to race on the Monmouth Turf for the first time. It should be a great race.

#8 Candy Store [IRE] (P. Lopez / Clement) might have the edge with the tactical speed she holds. This gal has the third highest last out speed number and two superb peaking workouts. A daughter of Lope De Vega [IRE], she acquitted herself nicely in her only run at this distance.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#11 Barkaa [FR] (Bravo / C. Brown) should challenge with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and four diligent workouts. She will be coming into this race fresh off a modest layoff. This gal is 60% in the money from ten career starts. A daughter of Siyouni [FR], she will be tracking the pace ready to strike.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#5 Too Charming (Ferrer / Albertrani) should contend holding a 100% in the money record from four starts at this very distance. She has put in three hearty workouts also during a modest layoff. A daughter of Bernardini, she should be forwardly placed ready to score.
$1 SHOW.

#12 Theodora B (Juarez / Dickinson) looks to do some damage with the highest speed number (tie) over the Monmouth course. She loves the course and distance and has put in one mighty workout. A daughter of Ghostzapper, she is another that will be tracking the pace ready to gun it in the stretch.

$1 Saturday Exacta Wheel ($3.00)

#8 Candy Store [IRE]  /  #11 Barkaa [FR],  #5 Too Charming,  #12 Theodora B.

Last Superfecta Sunday (9/22) Results
Churchill Downs R5.  Maiden Claiming.  We did not do well on our 10 CENT Superfecta box effort scoring only one of the four wagering interests required. Superfecta went 7-4-8-3.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Superado, did no better, finishing 10th (last).
Bankroll dips to $54.62.
