Churchill Dirt Sprint

Thursday begins our horse racing weekend.  As we saunter towards the official start of summer, we take a look at a good old dirt sprint at magnificent Churchill Downs.

Churchill Downs Race 8 {6 furlongs~3 year old Up~Allowance}
A good group of eight will go to the gate.  Talent is evenly distributed among this field in which any horse has a chance at victory.  It comes up a little light on speed with the vast majority of the horses prefering to come from mid-pack.

#5 Prince Silver (Vazquez / L. Jones) has a tiny edge with the highest last out speed number at a tad longer sprint and one solid workout.  This guy shares the highest speed number at the distance with two others.  He could settle right off the leaders ready to charge through the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#2 Flashy Green (Court / Medrano) is coming down from Indiana Downs with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number at a route and two robust, peaking workouts.  He is a contender by virtue of his overall in the money record (67%) matching nicely with the rest of this group.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#1 Radiant Talent (Bridgmohan / Margolis) is the morning line favorite and deservedly so finishing no worse than second in his four 6 furlong races.  He shares the highest speed number at the distance, shares the fourth highest last out speed number and has put in two stout workouts.

#7 Jagati (Lanerie / Kenneally) will offer up a significant challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer sprint, holding a two race progression, and putting in three athletic workouts.  He should be a mid-packer with some run.

#8 Jimmer (Goncalves / Ritter) could also be up to the challenge sharing the second highest speed number at a longer sprint and putting in a super strong workout.  He could come off the pace with a nice kick.

10 CENT Superfecta

#5 Prince Silver / #2 Flashy Green / #1 Radiant Talent / #7 Jagati, #8 Jimmer.
