Turfin' at Churchill

The horse racing weekend opens as we take a peek at a superb Turf route at magnificent Churchill Downs.  Summer is here and the racing is hot!

Churchill Downs Race 8 {1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Allowance}
A good field of ten will take to the green for this Turf feature.  A smattering of speed is mixed with those who like to come from off the pace.  The vast of majority will trek this distance for the first time.  It should be a great race on what should be a beautiful, but hot Louisville day.

#10 Chalice (Mena / Gorder) has the edge with highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and three athletic workouts.  He should have some pace in which to exert his closing style.
$2 SHOW.

#3 Big Town (Lebron / Glyshaw) will challenge sharing the highest last out speed number and putting in two strong workouts.  He has won at this distance in the slop.  This guy should track the pace ready to make his move heading into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 Zokarion (Franklin / Kobiskie) should be in the mix with second highest (4-way tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and one stout workout.  He is another that should track the pace.

#8 Seton Hall (Goncalves / Wilkes) has the tactical speed to get the job done.  He shares the second highest last out speed number, has a two race progression, and four excellent, peaking workouts.  He holds the highest speed number at the distance which may allow him to pull off the victory.
