Into the Dirt Prairie Night

Hopefully a cooler evening will prevail on this Friday.  We take a look at a fantastic race at the diamond among the cornfields of Iowa that is Prairie Meadows.

Prairie Meadows Race 9 {Iowa Sprint Handicap~6 furlongs~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A splendid field of seven sensational sprinters will go to the gate in this stakes race.  The race comes up very heavy on speedy types which may benefit those that prefer to press or track the pace.  It will be an exciting race.

#3 Rothko (Nakatani / Asmussen) looks like the horse to beat with the highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and three stellar, peaking workouts.  This guy has notched three wins from three starts at this distance.  A favorite who likes to sit behind the leaders and dash past them in the stretch.
$2 WIN.

#1 Noble's Promise (Laviolette / McPeek) will challenge with a favorable pace he can track and pounce upon.  He holds the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one quality workout.  Coming up from Churchill Downs he should handle the Prairie dirt well.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#7 Wiredfortwotwenty (Barton / Hone) will also be up to the challenge with the highest speed number at the distance and three agressive workouts.  This gelding will be among the speedsters looking to hold on for a piece.

#5 Capt. Bullet Bob (Sukie / L. Hellman) is another who should be in the thick of the speedsters.  He shares the highest last out speed number and a three race progression.  His third highest (tie) speed number at the distance helps the cause.
