Stakes Saturday Turfing

We go to the green on this Stakes Saturday by looking at a couple of exceptional Turf races.  A grade one at beautiful Belmont Park and another at one of the finest Turf courses in the nation, Arlington Park.

Belmont Park Race 8 {Man O War~G1~1 3/8 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A great field of eight will make their start in this annual.  There is some speed as well as all other racing styles represented.  Each horse entered has enough talent to pull off the victory.  It should be an exhilarating race.

#5 Treasure Beach [GB] (Spencer / O'Brien) is a well traveled millionaire.  His tracking style is well suited for this race and field.  He is coming out of a race in Hong Kong prior to a nice 60 day freshening.  This will be his second start of the year.  He holds a 72% in the money record in a fourteen race career.  Should be the one to beat.
$1 WIN / $2 SHOW.

#3 Point of Entry (Lezcano / McGaughey) will challenge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three tenacious, peaking workouts.  He is another that should track and close in on the pace entering the stretch.
$1 PLACE / $1 SHOW.

#4 Newsdad (Alvarado / Mott) should be part of the speed with the highest speed number at the distance, coming off a longer route, and putting in three robust workouts.  He could motor well over this course.
$1 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#2 Center Divider (Napravnik / C. Brown) should be in the mix with the second highest speed number at the distance, coming off a nice 60 day freshening, and putting in four strong workouts.  He could be close to the pace ready to move through the stretch.

10 CENT Superfecta

#5 Treasure Beach [GB] / #3 Point of Entry / #4 Newsdad / #2 Center Divider.

Arlington Park Race 8 {The American Derby~G3~1 3/16 mile~TURF~3 year olds~Stakes}
A superb field of ten horse will go to the grass.  Six members of this field were triple crown nominees this year.  Plenty of speed will keep the pace honest which could set up for one coming from off the pace.

#7 Quick Wit (A. Garcia / Romans) appears ready to run a good race with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two stable workouts.  This guy should be closing swiftly in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#1 All Stromy (Homeister / Geier) will challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two stout workouts.  He can be expected to be forwardly placed ready for an opening to push through.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Southern Parkway (Graham / Arnold) could be the big surprise with a decent last out speed number, a two race progression, and three steady workouts.  This guy can be expected to track the pace and leap all in during the stretch run.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Silver Max (Albarado / Romans) should be the favorite with the highest last out speed number, five wins in a row, a consistent six race progression, and three supreme workouts.  He will be the speed of the race and has the potential to wire the field.

#10 Sachem Spirit (Lanerie / Howard) will join in the speedfest with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four superior, peaking workouts.  Expect him to force a dual on the front end.
