Stakes Saturday in New Orleans

A smashing Stakes Saturday across the country.  Today we take a look at what could be considered a prep for the Derby races down the trail.

Fair Grounds Race 11 {LeComte~G3~1 mile 70 yards~3 year old~Graded Stakes}
A great group of eleven will compete in this superb graded stakes race. It does come up a little light on speed, but there are a few in here that like to be forwardly placed. Many of these lads are on an improvement path where any of them can step up and take this one. it is a very intriguing race.

#11 Eagle (Hernandez / Howard) could come off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a four race progression, and four sensational peaking workouts. This son of Candy Ride [ARG], will be running late into a legitimate pace. He is experienced at this distance, having hit the board twice at it.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#4 War Story (Graham / Amoss) will be stretching out to further improve in his third career race. He holds a couple of good last out speed numbers, winning at both. This lad is working a two race progression and has put in one solid work.  A son of Northern Afleet, he should be running close to the pace and get first strike going into the stretch.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#2 Tiznow R J (Albarado / Asmussen) should challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four stellar peaking workouts. He has notched a victory at this distance earning him the second highest speed number at same. This son of Tiznow could be the speed of the race and has the potential to wire this field.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#10 Another Lemon Drop (Borel / Bauer) should contend with the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two stout workouts. As a deep closer he will need some pace to aid him in his effort. This son of Lemon Drop Kid has a victory over the Fair Grounds course that earned him the highest speed number of the few that have traveled it.

#7 Runhappy (Bridgmohan / Wohlers) will be making his second start after earning a smart victory in his maiden start. Based on that he holds the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and has put in two superlative workouts.  This son of Super Saver shows every indication of great improvement as the racing year draws on.
