Horse Racing Weekend begins at the "Great Race Place"

We begin our horse racing weekend in the Southern California sun.

Santa Anita Park Race 7 {1 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Optional Claiming}

A great group of eight will stride on to the grass for this Turf mile. The race comes up a little light on speed, but the speed numbers are fairly close making for a competitive event. It should be a good Turf contest to begin the horse racing weekend.

#7 Hay Dude [GB] (D. Lopez / D'Amato) might have an edge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number at a sprint and five superlative peaking workouts. This lad holds the highest speed number at the distance as well as over the Santa Anita Turf. With the right pace, he should come around the bend with a quick close.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#9 Quick Casablanca [CHI] (T. Baze / McAnally) should challenge with the highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and four strong workouts. This lad enjoys the surface and distance. He should be tracking the pace ready to strike.

#6 Abbey Vale [IRE] (Bejarano / D'Amato) should contend with the third highest speed number at a longer route and four robust workouts This lad loves the Santa Anita course with a 66% in the money record. He is another that will be tracking the pace.

#2 Spring Up (Lezcano / Sadler) is coming off a more than one year layoff. He shares the fourth highest speed number at the distance and has put in four supreme peaking workouts in preparation for this race. This guy is another that will be tracking the pace.
