A Classic BC Classic

As the warm sunshine beats down on the Kentucky dirt, we will take in one of the best races of the year in the Breeders' Cup Classic.

Churchill Downs Race 11 {Breeders' Cup Classic~G1~1 1/4 mile~3 year-old Up~Graded Starts}

There will be no more exciting race the balance of the year than this edition of the BC Classic. There is enough speed to maintain an honest pace. speed figures for these world class horses are very close.  Of the field of fourteen there are ten millionaires. The Euros have three entrants all with a good chance to find their way to the winner's circle. A great race will unfold.

#1 Thunder Snow [IRE] (Soumillion / bin Suroor) looks well positioned to take this field with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number and four strength building, peaking workouts. This lad has hit the board in five of his six starts at this distance. A son of Helmut [AUS], he should be forwardly placed ready to strike.
$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $5 SHOW.

#7 West Coast (J. Velazquez / Baffert) will challenge with a strong set of three last out speed numbers and three dynamite peaking workouts. He has hit the board in all three of his races at this distance earning the second highest speed number of this field. A son of Flatter, he has the tactical speed to see how the paces develops and use that to his advantage.
$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#2 Roaring Lion (Murphy / Godsden) makes the surface switch from Turf to dirt for the first time. Distance will not be a problem as he relishes it. This lad will be seeking his fifth win in a row. He is 91% in the money from twelve career starts. A son of Kitten's Joy, he should track the pace and rocket into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#14 Accelerate (Rosario / Sadler) could go off as the favorite with the highest speed at the distance. He comes into this race with a three race win streak and three endurance producing workouts. This guy is 90% in the money from twenty-one career starts. A son of Lookin At Lucky, he should track the pace closely and spring into the stretch.
