Stakes Saturday "Where the Turf Meets the Surf"

Today we take a peek at a swell Stakes race out in San Diego, California.

Del Mar Race 8 {Bob Hope~G2~7 Furlongs~2 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A reduced field of five will make the start in this annual event. It is perfectly balanced group of running styles which will make it a competitive contest. All of these lads will be going on to greater races once finished here.

#6 Sparky Ville (Stevens / Bonde) is the most experienced runner of the group seeking his third career win. He holds the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two strong works. A son of Candy Ride [ARG], he should track the leaders and gun it in the stretch.
$2 WIN / $3 SHOW.

#3 Mucho Gusto (Talamo / Baffert) looks to be the odds on favorite with the third highest speed number in his only start and five exceptional, glorious workouts. This son of Mucho Macho Man is primed and ready to compete. He could take them all from the gate to the wire.
No Wagering Value.

#4 Savagery (Bejerano / Callaghan) should be in the thick of it from opening of the gate with the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three endurance producing workouts. A son of Bellamy Road, he broke his maiden at Del Mar.
$2 SHOW.

#2 Extra Hope (Prat / Mandella) is coming off his maiden win at a route race. He holds a two race progression with a couple of good speed figs and two hearty workouts. This son of Shanghai Bobby is 100% in the money at Del Mar. He should track and close efficiently.

50 CENT Trifecta ($4.00)
Normally we like our 10 CENT Superfecta play, but with this shortened field we go to a bigger pool of money in the Trifecta.

#6 Sparky Ville, #3 Mucho Gusto  /  #6, #3, #4 Savagery  /  #6, #3, #4, #2 Extra Hope.

Last Superfecta Sunday (11/11) Results
Churchill Downs R9  Allowance Optional Claimer. We failed in our 10 CENT Superfecta play onlt hitting two of four wagering interests. Superfecta went 1-6-5-10.
Our Bronze Horseshoe selection, Five Hearts, finished 10th (last).
Bankroll plummets to $89.56.
