Stakes Saturday on the Turf

A great Stakes Saturday to enjoy races across the country. Today we take a look at the Turf prep for the Secretariat on Million Day.

Arlington International Race 8 {American Derby~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A fantastic field of thirteen will hit the Arlington Turf in this annual contest. There is plenty of speed to make sure the pace is strong. Speed numbers are fairly close as each one of these lads continues to show improvement. Some of the very best American Turf pedigrees are represented here to further the handicapping challenge. It should be one of the best Turf races on this Stakes Saturday.

#12 Crafty Daddy (Geroux / B. Cox) might have the edge with the third highest last out speed number and four diligent workouts. This lad also holds the second highest speed fig at the distance. He has improved with each outing and will be seeking his fourth win in a row. A son of Scat Daddy, he has the tactical speed to allow the pace to take him forward.
$2 WIN  /  $3 PLACE  /  $4 SHOW.

#2 War Film (M. Mena / Asmussen) should challenge with the highest speed number at the distance and three stout workouts. This guy has recorded two wins from five career starts. A son of Declaration of War, he should take up a tracking position ready to close them down in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#11 Flying Scotsman (Prat / Sisterton) could go off as the favorite with the second highest last out speed number and three robust workouts. He is coming off an extended layoff, last racing at Del Mar. A son of English Channel, this distance is strongly in his wheelhouse. Look for him to run close to the pace and strike in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#3 Faraway Kitten (Beschizza / Maker) will contend as he continues to improve with every race.This guy is 100% in the money at this distance having run it three times in his young career. He won last out at Canterbury and has put in two hearty workouts in the last thirty days. A son of Kitten's Joy, he should race close to the pace and explode through the stretch.
