Superfecta Sunday where the Turf meets the Surf

Another Superfecta Sunday rolls in on a lazy afternoon. We take in another Turf contest in sunny Southern California.

Del Mar Race 6 {Wickerr Stakes~1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Stakes}

A closely matched field of nine will take to the Turf. Five of these lads share the highest speed number at the distance. The balance of these runners are very close. It could be any of these fellas race to win. It comes up a little light on speed though there are a few that should be forwardly placed. It should be a scintillating race. Our task is to chain together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#4 Higher Power (Van Dyke / Sadler) might have a slight edge with the highest (tie) last out speed number and two strong workouts. This will be his first race over the Del Mar Turf. A son of Medaglia d'Oro, he is 72% in the money from eleven career starts. He is our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Bombard (Prat / Mandella) should present a mighty challenge with the third highest (3-way tie) last out speed number and two stout workouts. This guy is one of the group that has the highest speed number at the distance and is 75% in the money at same. A son of War Front, he should be forwardly placed ready to strike.

#8 Tizzarunner (Fuentas / McCarthy) should contend with a couple of decent last out speed number at a much longer route and two well measured workouts. This lad is 66% in the money at the distance and is one point off of the group with the highest speed number at same. A son of Tizway, he should be tracking and closing smoothly.

#6 Souter [GB] (N. Arroyo / Glatt) should be in the mix from the start with the second highest last out speed number and three sound workouts. This lad is 73% in the money from fifteen career starts. A son of Poet's Voice [GB], he loves the Del Mar course.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#4 Higher Power  +  #5 Bombard  +  #8 Tizzarunner  +  #6 Souter [GB].
