Where the Surf meets the Turf Stakes Saturday

A wonderful mid-summer Stakes Saturday takes us to a fine grade one dirt sprint at the premiere race track North of San Diego, California.

Del Mar Race 8 {Bing Crosby~G1~6 Furlongs~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A reduced field of seven will go to the gate in this high level sprint. There is enough speed to carry the group through solid fractions. Speed numbers are fairly close giving it a strong competitive feel. Any one of these lads could pull of the victory. It is sure to be one of the outstanding races on the day.

#3 Cistron (V. Espinoza / Gaines) looks to be the one to beat with the highest last out speed number and four superlative workouts. This lad will be coming down in distance a bit for this event. A son of The Factor, he should be forwardly placed well positioned to bring it home.
$2 WIN.

#6 Chief Cicatrix (Fuentes / Davis) comes in from the Midwest where he has done exceedingly well. This guy will be seeking his eleventh victory in his sixteenth career start. He shares the fourth highest last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint and two hearty workouts. This gelding is a son of Munnings who should be chasing the pace closely.
$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#8 Jalen Journey (Smith / Pe. Miller) is in good form and could be leading this crew seeking to perform a wire job. He took second last out at this distance and has turned in one robust workout. A son of With Distinction, he holds an 80% in the money record from five career starts.
$2 SHOW.

#7 Recruiting Ready (Prat / Hough) comes in from New York to challenge this group. He holds the second highest last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint and four excellent workouts. A son of Algorithms, he should be forwardly placed ready to score.
