 On this Stakes Saturday we look at the Ohio Derby.

Thistledown Race 12 {Ohio Derby~G3~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A reduced field of eight will go to the gate in this annual event.

A good group of three-year-olds will battle for a share of the 500K purse. There is enough speed to create an honest pace. Speed figs are fairly close with two in this race having hit the triple digit mark. Only two have experience over the Thistledown track. Three have raced at this exact distance. All have distinguished themself over a dirt surface. It should be a great race to cap off a fine Thistledown card.

#2 Chunk of Gold (Loveberry / E. West) drops in off a decent performance in the Grade one Kentucky Derby. As such he drops in distance with three strong workouts. On the Dirt at Delaware Park for Stakes Saturday

 On this Stakes Saturday we take in the Delaware Derby on a great day of racing.

Delaware Park Race 8 {Delaware Derby~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old~Stakes}

A reduced field of eight will go to the gate for this featured race on the card.

There is enough speed to carry the pace forward. Speed figures are fairly close making it competitive. Half the field has experience over the Delaware oval. Three will attempt this exact distance for the first time. It should be a very good race on a nice card.

#3 Admiral Dennis (Machado / B. Cox) holds the highest last out speed number and four strong peaking workouts. This guy should track the pace closely and spring into the stretch. Staying on at Saratoga for Superfecta Sunday

 We continue our effort during the "Belmont Racing Festival" and look at a rescheduled Grade One Turf sprint on this Superfecta Sunday.

Saratoga Race 12 {Jaipur Stakes~G1~5 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great field of ten will hit the grass in this annual event.

Belmont Stakes Day up at Soggy Saratoga

 We look at the third jewel of the Triple Crown up at Saratoga.

Belmont at SARATOGA Race 13 {Belmont Stakes~G1~1 1/4 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A high-level group of eight will go to the gate in this final race of the Triple Crown.

There will be a couple of speedsters to get the pace going. Speed figs are fairly close with five in the field hitting the triple digit in at least one of their races. Only the three top finishers in the Kentucky Derby have gone this distance. Only two have raced over the Saratoga track. It should be a fine race on a rainy day at Saratoga.

#3 Rodriguez (M. Smith / Baffert) will show speed firing fresh having skipped both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness due to hoof issues. He holds the highest last out speed number and three powerful peaking workouts. This guy will stretch out to the distance. As a front runner, he should be able to control the pace in the slop. A son of 2020 Kentucky Derby winner, Authentic, he is 100% in the money from five starts.

Superfecta Sunday on the Synthetic

 We look at a synthetic route down in South Florida on this Superfecta Sunday.

Gulfstream Park Race 9 {1 mile 70 yards~Tapeta~3 year-old~Maiden Claiming}

A reduced field of eight will launch from the gate in this "Lucky Last" on the Gulfstream card.

This one comes up a little light on speed, but there are three in the race that should be forwardly placed. All but two will be stretching out to this distance. Half the field have experience over synthetic. It should be a fine race to wager and watch.

#6 Accelerate Me (Morelos / Sweezey) will be making his third career start with the highest last out speed number and two sound workouts. He will be switching from Turf to Tapeta. This guy will be part of forwardly placed crew up-front. A son of Accelerate, he is 50% in the money from those two starts.

Stakes Saturday at Churchill Downs

 A great day of racing under the Twin Spires on this Stakes Saturday. We look in on a Turf route for the fillies.

A reduced field of nine will hit the grass in this "lucky last" stakes race on today's card.

There is enough speed to carry the pace forward. Speed numbers are fairly close making the race quite competitive. All but one will be attempting this distance for the first time with two cutting back in distance and the rest making the stretch out. Four have covered the Churchill Turf nicely. It should be a fantastic race to cap off a great day of racing under the Twin Spires.

#5 Classic Q (J. Ortiz / M. Casse) is the deserved favorite with the highest last out speed number and one work over the Turf. This gal will stretch out to the distance. Up North for Superfecta Sunday

 We look in on the "Lucky Last" up at that great racecourse in Canada on this Superfecta Sunday.

Woodbine Race 10 {7 Furlongs~All Weather~3 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Maiden Allowance}

A nice field of nine will go to the gate in this Maiden on the All-weather.

Stakes Saturday at Churchill Downs

 On this Stakes Saturday we take in a nice race going long on the Turf under the Twin Spires.

Churchill Downs Race 9 {Keertana Stakes~1 1/2 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Fillies/Mares~Stakes}

A modest field of eight talented ladies will hit the Turf in this classic distance event.

There is sufficient speed to keep the pace rolling in this long Turf race. Speed numbers are fairly close with six of these ladies having hit the triple digit mark in a least one of their last three outings. Three will be running over the Churchill Turf for the first time. PREAKNESS 150

 Oh Baltimore. We look in on the Stakes action at the historic racetrack, Pimlico. The focus will be on the 150th running of the Preakness.

A field of nine will go to the gate in the second Jewel of the Triple Crown.

There is plenty of speed to produce a sizzling pace in this race. Speed numbers are fairly close, though five in the field have already hit triple-digit speed figs. All will be racing over the Pimlico track for the first time. Only one has gone this exact distance. Three exit the Kentucky Derby which is slightly longer. It should be a fine classic for the record books.

#2 Journalism (Rispoli / McCarthy) is the horse to beat. Having placed second in KD 151 he wheels back in two weeks. Stakes Saturday at Baqueduct

 On this Stakes Saturday we look in on an exciting preparatory race for the coming Belmont Stakes.

Baqueduct Race 11 {Peter Pan Stakes~G3~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A reduced field of nine will to the gate in this annual event.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

There will be sufficient speed to produce an honest pace. Speed figs are very close. Only five have competed over the track. A couple will stretch out to this distance for the first time. It should be a very good race on a great day of racing.

#8 Captain Cook (Franco / R. Dutrow) has improved his speed number in each of his four races. He holds the highest last out speed number and four strong peaking workouts. Look for him to track the pace closely and spring into the stretch. A son of Practical Joke, he has a 50%-win rate from those four starts.

#4 Hill Road (Prat / C. Brown) should track and close into a strong pace. He will stretch out and run over the track for the first time. Happy Kentucky Derby Day!!!

 The day we have all waited for his here. Kentucky Derby 151. Since posted two of our Notable Nine have been scratched. We will add two horses to complete our notable nine. On this, the highest of horse racing holy days, we will go full spectrum on our wagers.

Churchill Downs Race 12 {Kentucky Derby 151~G1~1 1/4 mile~3 year-old~graded stakes}

There will be speed, mostly to the inside, though a couple will need to speed from outside posts. Despite the possibility of an off-track, it should be a sizzling pace. Only two have hit a Triple digit Beyer speed fig, #8 Journalism and #21 Baeza. Only three have raced near the distance, #6 Admire Daytona, #14 Tiztastic, and #19 Chunk of Gold. Eight in the field have raced over the Churchill track. Other than the triple-digit earners, speed figs are fairly close. This should be another tremendous running of the Kentucky Derby.

#14 Tiztastic (Rosario / Asmussen) could be world class trainer, Steve Asmussen's first Kentucky Derby winner. He should find a nice tracking position under Rosario's patient ride. This guy could weave. bob, and juke around his opponents as they head into the stretch run. A son of Tiz the Law out of the Tapit mare Keesha is 100% in the money over the Churchill track.

#7 Luxor Cafe (Moreira / Noriyuki) will benefit from an off-track. He is 100% in the money from four starts over an off track. This guy is an American made son of Triple-Crown winner American Pharoah out of a More Than Ready mare Mary's Follies. This guy is another that should take up a nice tracking position and strike in the stretch. He is 83% in the money from six starts.

$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#8 Journalism (Rispoli / McCarthy) is the very deserved favorite as the only horse to have posted two triple-digit Beyer speed figs. He is a tough horse with a very strong turn of foot. He needs a good trip to be victorious. A son of the great sire Curlin, he holds an 80% win rate from five starts.

#21 Baeza (Prat / Shirreffs) gets added to our notable nine as he draws in. He is the only other horse earning a triple-digit Beyer speed fig. This guy should chase the pace closely. Two stamina inducing workouts should help him carry the distance. A son of McKinzie out of a Big Brown mare, Puca, he is 75% in the money from four starts.

#19 Chunk of Gold (Loveberry / E. West) will be part of the closer pack heading into the stretch. This guy has doubled up his speed figs in his last two races. He could be sitting on a big race. A strong workout tab of four power works indicates he is ready. A son of Preservationist out of a Cairo Prince mare Play for Good, he is 100% in the money from four starts.

#18 Sovereignty (J. Alvarado / W. Mott) is a deep closer and with a hot pace he can be expected to be in the mix. This colt has a commanding win over the Churchill track. A son of Into Mischief out of Bernardini mare Crowned, he is 80% in the money from five starts.

#17 Sandman (J. Ortiz / M. Casse) is one of four Millionaires in the race. This guy will be tracking and closing handsomely. Gray is Good. This Arkansas Derby winner has competed over the Churchill track. A son of Tapit out of a Distorted Humor mare Distorted Music he is 75% in the money from eight starts.

#9 Burnham Square (B. Hernandez / Wilkes) is another one in the closing community expected to really start running heading into the stretch. This lad has improved his Beyer speed figs in each of his six races run. A son of Liam's Map out of a Scat Daddy mare Linda, he is 83% in the money from six starts.

#1 Citizen Bull (M. Garcia / Baffert) will attempt to be the speed of the race from the rail position. This guy will put on the ski mask and try to steal the race as the controlling speed. Superfecta Sunday at Oaklawn

 We take in a nice Maiden Claiming race down in Hot Springs, Arkansas for our Superfecta Sunday.

Oaklawn Park Race 8 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~Maiden Claiming}

A nearly full field of eleven will go to the gate in this superb Maiden Claiming event.

This one is a little light on speed. Speed figures are somewhat close. Only one First-time starter joins the fray. Two will race over the Oaklawn track for the first time. It should be a very nice race to test one's handicapping skills as we head into Kentucky Derby week.

#7 American Litigator (C. Torres / Medina) is the deserved favorite with the second highest (tie) last out speed number and two solid peaking workouts. He is making his third start in the form cycle. This colt hit the board at the distance and over the track in his last start. A son of Outwork, he is 50% in the money from those two starts.

#4 Heavenlyconveyance (Jara / Tranquilino) comes in out of a high-level Maiden Special Weight race where he earned the fourth highest last out speed number. Two sound workouts add to his arsenal. #8 Solevo (K. Asmussen / S. Asmussen) comes out of a Maiden Special weight race at Houston Race Park where he finished third. He holds one decent workout. This guy is another that will be part of the tracker pack. A son of City of Light, he is 40% in the money from ten starts.

 We venture to South Florida for a fine Stakes race over the Turf.

With two scratches a talented field of nine will strut on the green in this featured affair.

This race comes up light on speed with one speedster and two tracking the pace closely. Speed figs are fairly close. All have raced over the turf, at the distance, and on the Gulfstream course. It should be a marvelous race to wager on and watch.

 We stay on at Keeneland for a fantastic Stakes race on the Turf at a classic distance.

Keeneland Race 9 {Elkhorn Stakes~G3~1 1/2 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A full field of twelve will run on the Turf in this annual event.

There is enough speed in this race to produce an honest pace. Speed figures are very close as every one of these fellas having hit the triple digit at least a couple. It should be extremely competitive. Only three will try the Keeneland Turf for the first time. One will be stretching out to this distance. Strong Turf pedigrees are in this race from top to bottom. This race will be one of the best on a great day of racing across the country.

#12 Balnikhov [IRE] (Geroux / D'Amato) comes in with the third highest last out speed number and three powerful workouts. This guy will close gallantly into the pace. He relishes the Turf and the distance. A millionaire son of Adaay [IRE], he is 61% in the money from thirty-one starts.

 On this Good Friday we look in on a fabulous Turf Sprint at Keeneland.

Keeneland Race 8 {5 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~4 year-old Up~Allowance}

A nice field of ten will hit the grass in this high-level Allowance race.

There is plenty of speed in this race to keep the pace rolling swiftly. Speed figs are fairly close with half the field scoring triple digits amongst their last three. Four will be trying the Turf course for the first time. All seem to be well prepped for this race. It should be one of the better races on an excellent card.

Stakes Saturday in Lexington, Kentucky

 On this Stakes Saturday we take in the last KD 151 points race.

Keeneland Race 9 {Lexington Stakes~G3~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A reduced field of seven will go to the gate essentially for the purse money.

There is enough speed to produce an honest pace. Speed numbers are very close giving any of these colts a chance to win. Only two have raced over the Keeneland dirt. Four will be stretching out to the distance. All have been well prepped and ready for battle. It should be a fine race.

#3 Bullard (Rispoli / McCarthy) will stretch out to this distance with a decent last out speed number and four strong workouts. He should track the pace and strike in the stretch. A son of Gun Runner, he is 100% in the money from three starts.

Furlong Friday at Keeneland

 April is the month to take in the fabulous Keeneland Spring meet. On this Friday we take in a tremendous Stakes race sprinting on the Turf.

Keeneland Race 7 {FanDuel Limestone Stakes~5 1/2 Furlongs~TURF~3 year-old~Fillies~Stakes}

A highly competitive field of twelve will hit the green in this annual affair.

We continue on with our Rolling Show Parlay (RSP) and our 10 CENT Superfecta bet structure. There is plenty of speed in this race to produce a sizzling pace. Speed number are fairly close. Only two have raced over the Keeneland course. Four of these Turf sprinters have yet to compete at this distance. Interestingly, all but one have raced over the Turf. It should be an excellent race to wager and watch.

Superfecta Sunday in Hot Springs

 On this Superfecta Sunday we look in on a sprint race in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Oaklawn Park Race 11 {6 Furlongs~4 year-old Up~Claiming}

A rigorous field of twelve will go to the gate in this penultimate race on the card.

There is plenty of speed in this race. Speed figs are fairly close with six posting triple digits speed numbers among the entrants. All but one have raced over the Oaklawn dirt. It should be a fine race to handicap and wager.

#1 Santos Dumant (Bejarano / Hartman) will drop in distance with the tactical speed to settle into the pace. He holds the highest last out speed number and two sharp workouts. This gelding loves the dirt and the Oaklawn track. A son of Street Sense, he is 60% in the money from twenty starts.

Stakes Saturday at the "Big A"

 We venture to the "Big Apple" for one of the last remaining Kentucky Derby preps.

Aqueduct Race 12 {Wood Memorial~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A reduced field of ten will enter the gate in this annual Derby prep.

Past Performances used:  Equibase.

There is plenty of speedy and forwardly placed types to keep the pace sizzling. Speed numbers are fairly close with two posting three-digit figures. Half the field will try the Aqueduct dirt for the first time. All but two are nominated to the Triple Crown. The entire field seems to be well prepped as they look to rack up Derby points. It should be a fantastic race on a very good Aqueduct card.

#2 Captain Cook (M. Franco / R. Dutrow) is one of two that have won at this distance. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number and four superb workouts. This guy should track the pace closely looking to position for the stretch run. He will be seeking his third win in a row showing a three-race speed fig progression. A son of Practical Joke, he has a 66% win rate from three starts.

#8 Passion Rules (Carmouche / B. Cox) is another that should track the pace as he seeks his fourth win in a row. On a last out win he holds a good speed fig and two powerful workouts.
