Gulfstream Turf-day

Today we take a peak at a Turf race at Gulfstream Park.

Gulfstream Park Race 8 {1 mile~Turf~3 year old~Starter Allowance}
Four have already opted out of this race leaving a field of ten.  There is a genuine lightness on all of these horses workout tabs.  There appears to be three top contenders and a battle for the morsels left among the remaining.

#9 Batter Up (Castellano / Brown) has the edge with the second highest last out speed number over a longer route, a two race progression, and three hardy workouts.  With some pace he should close well.
$1 WIN / $2 SHOW.

#1 Aussi Austin (Jurado / Iadisernia) will challenge with the highest speed at the distance as well as last out and two robust peaking workouts.  He should be closing in the stretch.
$1 PLACE / $1 SHOW.

#10 Issac Newton (Jara / Pletcher) will also be challenging with the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three good workouts.  He also will be closing for a solid piece of the purse.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests
#6 Peb Hughes (Solis / Pita) will show early speed and should have enough to hold on for a minor piece of the purse pie.  He shows the fourth highest speed number at the distance and two hearty, peaking workouts.

#12 Taylor's Wise Lion (P. Lopez / DiMauro) will be attempting the dirt for the first time and may surprise.  He shows an 80% in the money record, has the third highest (3-way tie) last out speed number, and two nice workouts.

10 CENT Superfecta
#9 Batter Up / #1 Aussi Austin / #10 Issac Newton / #6 Peb Hughes, #12 Taylor's Wise Lion.
