We open our horse racing weekend with a splendid grade one sprint at magnificent Keeneland. Two very consequential derby preps will be run this Saturday; the Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park and the Toyota Bluegrass Stakes at Keeneland. Both will determine those who will be going on to KD 137 at Churchill Downs. If you thought last Saturday's derby preps were astonishing, wait until this Saturday.

Keeneland Race 8 {Vinery Madison~G1~7 Furlongs~4 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
A great group of eight gals, equal in talent, will go to the gate for this grade one sprint. All have trained well and any of them could come away with the victory.
#8 Evening Jewel (Espinoza / Cassidy) looks ready to win this one with a decent last out speed number at a route and four superlative, peaking workouts. She should close well for the victory.

#3 Decelerator (Maragh / Lukas) will challenge with the highest last out speed number over a route, a two race progression, and three athletic workouts. She will be forwardly placed ready to pounce.
$2 SHOW.
#6 Tremendamente Loca (Morales / Hamm) could be the big surprise with a decent last out speed number over a route and four fierce, peaking workouts Interestingly, she has the third highest speed number over the Keeneland course.

#2 My Jen (Castellano / Kenneally) is another that could surprise with the second highest overall speed number, a two race progression, and three hearty workouts. She will be tracking the leaders running for a piece of the purse pie.

Santa Anita R8. La Puente. Our first pick, Major Art [GB], finished 2nd for show money of $2.20. Our second pick, Surrey Star [IRE], won (1st) for show money of $2.40. Superfecta went 2-6-1-7.
