Return to Del Mar

A splendid Thursday to start the horse racing weekend.  We take a look at a nice distance Turf race at wonderful Del Mar.

Del Mar Race 7 {1 3/8 mile~Turf~3 year old Up~Optional Claiming}
A good field of nine are scheduled to make the start.  Only a handful have gone this distance or longer, though all have trained well leading up to this race.

#9 Scorpion Time (Talamo / Machowsky) has the advantage as a superb speedster with the highest last our speed number, a five race progression, and two wholesome workouts.  He could control the pace and wire this field.
$2 SHOW.

#8 Isle of Prado (Espinoza / Mitchell) should be a strong contender with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three robust workouts.  He should track the pace and close swiftly in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#5 Victorian Prince [IRE] (Quinonez / Knapp) looks well enough to be a contender with the fourth highest last out speed number and two solid workouts.  He should also be tracking the pace ready to strike.

#4 Balladry (Bejarano / Harty) could show some excellent improvement in his second Turf start with two tremendous, peaking workouts.  He will track/close the pace.  He could surprise.

10 CENT Superfecta

#9 Scorpion Time / #8 Isle of Prado / #5 Victorian Prince [IRE] / #4 Balladry.
